B. P. Gibson is an aspiring young adult and middle grade author. Others in the literary field share both her first and last names, including a middle grade author, a children’s book illustrator, and a President Kennedy biographer. She hopes her pen name, B. P. Gibson, will keep her distinct and separate from the others.
Born in Southern Arizona, B. P. Gibson grew up in the Sonoran Desert, where she has lived most of her life. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona’s College of Education. She has both elementary and secondary teaching certificates with approved areas in English and Language Arts. She also holds teaching endorsements in English as a Second Language, Reading Specialist, Library-Media Specialist, Structured English Immersion, and Art. B. P. Gibson has a unique understanding of teens and preteens through years of teaching English, reading, literature, and language arts at the same middle school she attended in junior high. When B. P. Gibson isn’t writing, she enjoys listening to audiobooks, swimming, playing the piano, keeping up with current events, and from time to time, arts and crafts. She has two sons, two grandsons, and one fur baby.
